Why

Bands create community, mastery, and belonging.

Many drop out during their teenage years. #BjørsvikUngBrass gives young musicians encounters with role models, experiences of mastery, and motivation to continue in the band community.

How we work

Sit-ins at rehearsals with experienced musicians
Inspiration concerts at school bands' own venues
Instruction and seminars for brass, percussion, ensemble playing, and basics
Joint concerts where young musicians get to perform on stage
Planning together with the conductor and board of each band

Who is this for?

School bands in Bergen and surrounding areas
Children and young people who need mastery and motivation
Conductors and boards who want to develop the band community further
Parents and local communities who want to create good meeting places
